Everyone has a happy place. A place that gives us that warm fuzzy feeling. A place where they can go to get away from the outside world, think and be at peace. If you don't have one of these places...you need to find one in a hurry!
I am lucky to have two happy places....the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens and my Craft Room.
I have lived in Cranbourne for about 12 years but only discovered this hidden treasure almost a year ago. Now the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens (or my paradise as I like to refer to it) is a place that I visit frequently and the bonus is its only tens minutes from home. It's a place where I can get away from the troubles of the outside world, take in all the beauty of nature and let all my worries drift away.
Today the sun was shining and my happy place was calling me!
My craft room is my other happy place. My interest in card making began back in 2013 when my fiancée and I were going through IVF. I used card making as a distraction, a way to take my mind off/forget about the difficult and busy demands that IVF has on you. To this day I still find solitude in my craft room. The pressures in my life may have changed but the joy that my craft room brings me is still the same. I can spend hours sitting in there and it feels like only minutes have passed. Even when I am not feeling particularly creative, I can sit at my table, look through my latest craft supplies and still get the same benefit.
When the pressures of life's uncertainty start weighing on me heavily I know that I can always count on my paradise and my craft to help me put a spring back in my step.
