On Friday night I managed to tick off another bucket list item...attending a live sporting event. Even though I am far from a sports fan, I love the atmosphere of sitting in the crowd, listening to and watching the supporters going wild as their team scores a goal and the booing when an umpire makes a dicey call.
The soccer match that I attended was Melbourne City FC Vs Western Sydney Wanderers. Sydney's cheer squad were close by to us and although I couldn't understand a word they were saying I was quite happy listening to the melody of their songs and loved watching the enthusiasm they displayed cheering for their team during the game.
One of the greatest sporting memories I have is being amongst the sell out crowd at the MCG when the Liverpool FC anthem 'You'll never walk alone' was sung at the beginning of the Melbourne Victory match back in 2013. With 90,000 people singing such a famous song the atmosphere could only be described as euphoric. This is a sound I will never forget and feel so blessed to be apart of such a spine tingling moment.
